Tapapiés, one-week tapas and music festival in Lavapiés!
From Oct. 15th-25th, the already vibrant neighborhood of Lavapiés will be hosting its fifth edition of #Tapapies -- la ruta multicultural de la tapa y la música -- a one-week celebration where you can enjoy delicious bites from around the world and enjoy music and theater performances! A tapa plus an Estrella Damm beer (mini-bottle or caña) will cost you just 2.50€. As you walk around the neighborhood, you'll be able to easily spot the poster and which bars are taking part in the event.

Two Madrid-based second-hand clothing companies – Lady Clementine and Closet Exchange – are coming together for a big sale this weekend! Come any time from 11:30a.m. to 7:00p.m. next Saturday and Sunday (October 24 & 25) to Calle Vizcaya 1, 1ºA for all the best second-hand clothes in Madrid! (There will also be mimosas!) Want to do something different this halloween in Madrid? Then head over to Desperate Literature, a charming little bookstore near Opera, and wear your best costume. Marian Womack, editor of Ediciones Nevsky, translator and sci-fi legend, will be ushering in the halloween festivities with a reading of her most recent work, 'Orange Dogs'. There be all the usual tricks and treats, meaning booze. Dress code: cosmic horror.

Dance for Kindness started in 2012 by Life Vest Inside, an NYC-based NGO that aims to unite the world through kindness. To celebrate Kindness Day, a global event, groups of people around the world will be performing a flashmob. The Madrid event will take place on November 8th. Adelita Market is a monthly flea market that usually takes place at a cultural center in Malasaña called Espiritu 23 (named after its address, c/ Espiritu Santo 23). Although this time it will be held outside in Plaza de Dos del Mayo. The market mostly offers clothes, jewellery and accessories, although I've landed on other treasures too. The Hovse is a Christmas-inspired market that is taking place in a vacant 3-story mansion in Chamberí. Just walk in, explore the different stands selling jewellery, clothing and other nicknacks; and then head up to the top floor for food and drinks. There's also a rooftop. The Madrid-based popup, La Vermutería, is hosting a party on Saturday afternoon that you can't miss.
